Shanghai Luojing container terminal — DN2000 flanged coated spiral pipe for rainwater conveyance
Coated Spiral Welded Steel Pipe (SSAW) for Rainwater Transmission — Shanghai Port Luojing Port Area Container Terminal Renovation Project

Project Background The container terminal of Shanghai Port Luojing Port Area is located in Luojing Town, Baoshan District, Shanghai, on the south bank of the south branch of the Yangtze River estuary. It is China's first systematically planned old-terminal renovation project and a new-generation automated, near-zero-carbon, zero-emission container terminal developed by Shanghai International Port Group. Phase I officially commenced on December 26, 2022 and was completed and put into operation on June 28, 2024. With a Phase I shoreline length of 1,432 meters and a designed annual throughput capacity of 2.6 million TEUs, it has become the second 'super-large, smart, and eco-friendly' container port after the Yangshan Deep-Water Port Area. Phase II is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by mid-2026. Once completed, the Luojing automated container terminal will bring new momentum to the long-term development of Luojing Town and help establish it as a key support area of the Shanghai International Shipping Center.

About the Supply The coated spiral welded steel pipes (SSAW) procured for this project are mainly used for rainwater transmission at the container terminal. The base pipes are DN2000 spiral welded steel pipes with an internal and external epoxy resin coating, supplied in non-standard lengths (1 to 9 meters) with DN2000 flat welding flanges welded onto both ends, totaling several hundred tons. Delivery was completed in two batches, and all installation was finished ahead of the 2025 rainy season; the system is now officially in service.
