Lubei seawater desalination Phase II — DN800–DN1600 TPEP pipe for high-salinity duty
TPEP Anti-Corrosion Steel Pipes for Phase II of the Seawater Desalination Project in the Lubei High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Shandong Province

Project Background
The project is located in the Lubei High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Wudi County, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, with a total capacity of 100,000 tons/day, implemented in phases for the near and long term; the near-term phase is built at a scale of 50,000 tons/day, with a total investment of approximately RMB 683.0524 million. Binzhou, a severely water-scarce city where per-capita water resources are only 265 cubic meters, has been actively advancing water infrastructure construction to meet the needs of urban and rural drinking water security and economic development. The Lubei Desalination Phase II project was listed as a major Shandong provincial project of 2022 and ranks among the 14 seawater desalination bases built to serve coastal industrial parks in six cities - Dongying, Yantai, Weifang, Weihai, Rizhao and Binzhou. The project mainly serves the purified-water needs of power plants, chemical plants, fertilizer plants and other enterprises within the Lubei High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. At present, these enterprises each build their own purified-water stations to meet internal production needs. Once the project is completed, enterprise water costs will be reduced by about 40%. Upon completion, the Lubei Desalination Phase II project will, on the one hand, effectively resolve Binzhou's long-standing shortage of freshwater, break the bottleneck constraining industrial development, and provide a solid water-supply guarantee for building a prosperous Binzhou; on the other hand, it will greatly reduce water withdrawal from the Yellow River, contributing positively to the ecological protection of the Yellow River Basin.

Youcheng Pipeline Supply Overview
For this project, the anti-corrosion pipes use national-standard spiral steel pipes (SSAW) as base pipes, with TPEP anti-corrosion treatment (extra-strength 3PE coating on the outer wall plus fusion-bonded epoxy coating on the inner wall). The TPEP anti-corrosion steel pipes cover sizes from DN800 to DN1600, totaling several thousand meters. For anti-corrosion pipes conveying seawater, TPEP anti-corrosion steel pipes are an ideal choice. The internal epoxy coating effectively resists seawater corrosion and improves conveying efficiency, while the three-layer 3PE external coating delivers outstanding anti-corrosion performance together with excellent abrasion and impact resistance. TPEP anti-corrosion steel pipes are particularly well suited to harsh installation environments with high salinity and humidity.
