Project Background
The Yarlung Tsangpo irrigation replenishment project comprises the Gaza intake pumping station in Zhatang Town, the Langsailing intake pumping station in Zhaqi Township, and the Jixiong Zhaqing intake pumping station in the Gonggar section, with a designed irrigation area of 5,150 mu and a construction period of 10 months. The project is being implemented by the Shannan Water Conservancy Project Construction Center, with a total designed irrigation area of 10,294.5 mu. New intake pump stations will be built with a total intake flow of 0.45 m³/s (operating 24 hours a day), divided into Station I (0.21 m³/s) and Station II (0.22 m³/s). The main construction scope includes intake basins, pump houses, pipe networks, canals, and power connection facilities.
About the Supply
The steel pipes supplied for this project are flexible socket-joint coated composite steel pipes in DN350/DN500/DN600, totaling more than 10,000 meters. The delivery distance from Youcheng Pipeline to the construction site exceeds 4,000 kilometers. With a project construction period of 10 months, pipe supply and on-site construction are currently progressing steadily, with completion planned for 2025. The flexible socket-joint coated steel pipe is based on a high-quality steel pipe body: one end is carefully beveled, the other end is expanded into a bell, and a precision coating process is then applied. Its clever design features a T-type rubber gasket similar to that used on ductile iron pipes, making the socket-joint connection simple and reliable. It not only retains the outstanding properties of coated steel pipe, but also incorporates the quick-connection advantage of the flexible socket joints used on ductile iron pipes — a perfect combination of the two. Designed specifically for drinking water transmission, the product is suitable for conveyed water temperatures of no more than 45℃, ensuring safe and worry-free operation.
